Drive is basically inspired by the novel of same name by James Sallis. The story of Driver is same as the Novel but academy award winner Hossain Amini writes the screen dialogues. The story of Drive centers on an unnamed Hollywood stunt driver who put himself in a wrong way during his gateway driving at night.
The film project was started in 2008 with director Neil Marshal and actor Hugh Jackman as according to slashfilms.com Marshal says following words
“This is something I haven’t done before, and I’ve wanted to bring a British sensibility to an L.A. shoot and a scorched classic film noir concept,” Marshall told Variety. “Hoss is a fantastic writer, and he’s written three amazing car chases in the film. He’s turned them into dramatic scenes as opposed to the usual crash, bang, wallop. I would like to be shooting it this summer.”
But then responsibility is given to Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn who then cast Ryan Gosling
As leading role. The film was shoot in California and Los Angeles
